Barefoot on the beach

Barefoot on the beach, Jesus stands before all,
Surrounded by those who have come to his call.
In parables and stories He begins to speak,
Of compassion for others, of helping the weak.
Of bringing hope to the lost, to heal and to mend,
And of His Father’s kingdom, of a love without end.

Though His life and His journeys are now far away,
His parables and stories still call us today.
To share our love with others, to remove their fears,
And for those who are weeping, to wipe away tears.
Barefoot on the beach, Jesus taught us to care,
And if we speak in His name, then He will be there.

Blessed are the Meek (Matthew 5:5)

Blessed are the meek, for they know how to care,
They may appear weak, but you will find them there.
In times of great strife, they will walk the long road,
And throughout their life, they will carry their load.

With great patience and strength, they will find a way,
And can go a great length, to help save the day.
No need to boast loud, of the work they have done,
No need in a crowd, to yell what they have won.

Jesus taught this each day, of how this should be,
Jesus showed us this way, to set us all free.
Let peace be our guide, let humility win,
Take anger in our stride, and stay meek within.

Cast the first stone (John 8:7)

“Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone”,
And who would answer that call, would stand alone.
For no one is innocent, nor should they try,
As it can be hard enough, just to get by.

But we can all try not to do any harm,
And in bad situations try to stay calm.
To help where we can, to keep malice at bay,
To give something to those in need on this day.

We may not be perfect but God will still know,
That we tried our best with our goodness, to show.
That we tried our hardest to answer His call,
And will love us still even if we did fall.

Mustard Seed (Matt 13:31-32, Mark 4:30-32)

A mustard seed begins its life so very small
But from that seed a tree can grow so very tall.
It starts so tiny, there’s so little there to see,
But this seed has all it needs to become a tree.
It has the faith to become all that God will need,
Such an amazing feat from such a tiny seed.

Let the seed of faith find its way into your heart,
Allowing your growth towards Gods kingdom to start.
Just a small seed is all you need to find this day,
Then from its growing roots, it will show you the way.
All it needs from you is for you to give your love,
Then you can climb faiths tree to God’s kingdom above.

The Ravens and the Lilies (Matt 6:25-34, Luke 12:22-29)

Consider the ravens and what they need,
God provides them with all of their feed,
Under the light of God, they fly in wonder every day.
They neither sow nor reap as they go,
But through them Jesus lets us know,
That we should not worry, for God values us far more than they.

Consider the lilies of the field,
It is their beauty, to us, that they yield,
Under the light of God, their robes shine there for you and me.
They neither toil nor spin in their glory,
But through them Jesus tells us the story,
That God’s robing of us, will be greater than the lilies we see.
