The First Christmas (Poem)

The First Christmas

Born within a stable, with a donkey and the hay,
So the Christ Child silently, within a stall did lay.
A new star shone above him, brightly for all to see,
So came the shepherds and wise men, each numbering three.
Bringing special gifts, the first Christmas presents to give,
To worship the Child, born for us so that we all may live.

A special Christmas morning, God’s gift for all mankind,
That from His living presence, forgiveness we will find.
Born so He may teach us how to walk within God’s sight,
To lead us all from darkness, into the holy light.
To bring peace and understanding from heaven above,
And when we are lost or lonely, bringing us His love.
