Blessed are the meek (Matthew 5:5) (Poem)

Blessed are the meek (Matthew 5:5)

Blessed are the meek, for they know how to care.
They may appear weak, but you will find them there.
In times of great strife, they will walk the long road,
And throughout their life, they will carry their load.

With great patience and strength, they will find a way,
And can go a great length, to help save the day.
No need to boast loud, of the work they have done,
No need in a crowd, to yell what they have won.

Jesus taught this each day, of how this should be.
Jesus showed us this way, to set us all free.
Let peace be our guide, let humility win,
Take anger in our stride, and stay meek within.

The First Christmas (Poem)

The First Christmas

Born within a stable, with a donkey and the hay,
So the Christ Child silently, within a stall did lay.
A new star shone above him, brightly for all to see,
So came the shepherds and wise men, each numbering three.
Bringing special gifts, the first Christmas presents to give,
To worship the Child, born for us so that we all may live.

A special Christmas morning, God’s gift for all mankind,
That from His living presence, forgiveness we will find.
Born so He may teach us how to walk within God’s sight,
To lead us all from darkness, into the holy light.
To bring peace and understanding from heaven above,
And when we are lost or lonely, bringing us His love.

Jesus

Step by step (John 19:17)

Step by step

Step by step, upon life’s long dusty road,
Slowly but surely does he carry his load.
A cross on His shoulders, a burden of love,
For the forgiveness of our sins from above.
For the healing of those who suffer in pain,
To remove our fear, so that peace may now reign.

Step by step, He carries the weight for us all,
Support for our souls should we stumble and fall.
Faithfully He guides us all into God’s sight,
A sacred journey from darkness to light.
A sacrifice given to set us all free,
For the love of our Lord, forever with thee
